Episode 14
A STORY WRITTEN BY BRIGHT DANIEL
Mrs JONAS’S RESIDENT
Jackson couldn’t believe who he was looking at in the sittingroom. There was an electricity giving every corner light, even the television was one. Mrs Jonas, Ruth and Nelikita stared at both Jackson and Amaya surprisingly.
“Amaya?” Jackson returned the call moving slowly. Before he could get closer, Amaya ran and hugged him thereby keeping the gun beside the box containing the book on the table.
“Thank God you are okay” Amaya disengaged herself just to see the women staring at her. “Hum.. he’s my friend” she introduced then Jackson greeted Mrs Jonas and others but none responded. He understood and joined Amaya on the cushion while Nelikita looked through the window. She could see nothing but a cloudy weather with people running around.
Amaya turned just to see Jackson who was sitting beside her staring at her. “Don’t” she said and picked up the gun again.
“What are you talking about?” Jackson asked.
“I mean don’t just start staring at me”
“You should know is part of me and why i do it”
Amaya looked at him. “Please don’t be too emotional. You should know what we are experiencing now; the deadly mark”
“I’ll be clad to have the mark and die for your love”
“What? are you crazy?!” Amaya exclaimed.
“Sshh, quiet!” Nelikita interrupted them staring at a bulb which voltage was dynamic. The attention of Mrs Jonas and the two lovers were also drawn, so all stared at the electric bulbs in the sittingroom. Suddenly, light began to spark from wires thereby causing all the light to go off even the television. Everywhere became dark….

As Geto ran to his grandmother, he stopped and picked a big stone as a weapon to fight hunters but when he saw his grandmothers from afar being attacked by a hunter, he threw the stone running to save her. “Leave her alone!” he shouted standing before the hunter who quickly left his grandmother and grabbed him on the neck.”Yoouu!” he groaned in a deep voice with saliva gushing out of his mouth. His face was totally rough like an old man.
“Grandma, run!” Geto shouted flinging his legs for freedom.
“Where is the book?!” the hunter asked.
“You can kick my ass ugly dick!” Geto replied.
“I.. Seee” the hunter jacked him up, higher than before then gave him a punch that drove him to a distant. Just then, Jesse saw him from her car. “Geto!” she shouted and ran out to meet him on the floor. “Come on, let’s enter the car!” she tried to pull him up. Meanwhile, the hunter was walking angrily to meet them while another caught Geto’s grandmother again. “Geto, stand up!” Jesse shouted seeing the hunter getting closer to them. As the hunter wanted to grab them, he received several gunshot then ran away, even the one holding the grandmother ran away too-those were Jesse’s bodyguards. “Enter the car!” one of them shouted still shooting at a far distance. Geto stood up by the help of Jesse and they began to stagger to the car.
“Please, pick my grandma too” Geto requested.
“Your grandma?” Jesse asked.
“Yes”
The guards helped them and the grandmother into the car and drove off.

Back to the resident of Mrs Jonas, everywhere was still dark and quiet. Nothing could be seen excepted from the window side. Nelikita adjusted close to Ruth to protect her from any sudden movement. Amaya was also ready telling Jackson to get behind her. Suddenly, two hunters jumped in from two different windows then Nelikita began to shoot the one she barely saw. Before Amaya knew it, the other hunter dragged her to the wall thereby making the gun to fall off.
Ruth and Mrs Jonas screamed. Jackson realized he had a phone which he put on the light and picked the gun. “Leave her alone!” he positioned both the gun and the light to the hunter.
“Yoouu!” the hunter turned looking scary. Then Jackson shot three bullets into his head and he fell on the floor. However, Nelly had also killed the other hunter. Immediately, the light came back then Amaya saw Jackson still positioning the gun at her direction. She stared at him surprisingly.

Emeka locked himself inside the house still on singlet and a voluminous jean trouser without belt. Meanwhile, he had an idea of what was happened outside. As he stood beside a window, a scary hunter stood behind him. When he noticed a deep breath behind him, he slowly turned then the hunter held him on his throat and pushed him towards the wall making the trouser to fall off completely. He could be seen with only a boxers and a singlet.
“Hey! I’m dead! I’m dead ooh!” Emylight shouted bitterly.
“Sshh, shut up” the hunter said with a deep voice. “Where is the book?”
“Which book?”
“Are you questioning me?”
“No oh! Heeii.. how i go question you nah? i dey craze?” Emylight used pigin English by force and the hunter jacked him up. “Cheeii.. Please take all the books in my house. I will even buy more if you allow me to leave and live”
“Funny!” the hunter threw him on floor then he ran out forcefully with just a boxers…
