Episode 8
A STORY WRITTEN BY BRIGHT DANIEL
Love hunters kill young men and
women who are in love either by making them to disappear thereby capturing them
for a serious torture and eventually kill them or by giving them a deadly mark
which indicate that they will die in no time. It was a curse laid on the people
of Kali city many years ago because they killed two lovers out of jealousy who
weren’t from the city. Now the curse is at work.

Hector and Nelly kept looking at each other at the door as Mrs Lucas stated the missing of her son. They couldn’t think of anything but the love hunters. So hector turned to the woman. “Ma’am, calm down and tell us how it happened. Was he taken by someone?”
“No, he just vanished before i came out from my room to the sittingroom where we were having our dinner”
“Come in” Hector gave her a seat and glanced at his sister who was already looking at him. “What do you think?” he asked.
“Could it possibly be the love hunters?” Nelly threw back the question. Hearing that, Mrs Lucas stood up staring at Nelly.
“Love hunters? No, it can’t be, no!” she shouted in tears.
“You have to calm down ma’am” Hector held her. “Maybe your son just went out”
“No, the door was locked. If he had gone out, wouldn’t he have open the door?”
“Maybe rapture is taking place” Hector said just to calm the woman down but Nelly disdained him for saying that, then Hector looked at her in a way that says: YES, IT COULD BE TRUE. He smiled.
“This is strange” Nelly became scared.

MRS JONAH’S APARTMENT
Cassandra waited for her mother to replied her question still in her room with the book in her hands while Amaya stared at her. She didn’t get the whole drama. She was totally confused.
“Mother, is it possible for the love hunters to return” Cassandra was still inquisitive.
“My daughter i don’t know” Mrs Jonas replied.
“But i thought i broke the curse long time ago! How possible is it?” Cassandra angrily walked back to the parlour with the book followed by Amaya. She kept the book on the centre table then looked out through the mirror, she could see nothing but darkness. As she turned, she saw Amaya staring at her with tears in her eyes. Then she quickly embraced her tightly rubbing her long hair gently downward.
“Am i going to die?” Amaya asked from her shoulder then Cassandra disengaged and held her two checks. “Listen to me, nobody is going to die. You will not die, I’ll make sure of that”
“Really?”
“Yes, trust me” she hugged her again. “Now go take your bath and go to sleep” she added but Amaya shook her head negatively.

Jesse, came out from the bathroom with just a towel tied across her chest. She kept on smiling without noticing it. It was obvious that Geto was the curse of her smile. She quickly dressed up and began to think of how fun it was to swim in the pool.
On the other hand, Geto laid on his bed which was closed to the window. He thought of nobody but Jesse. “I guess I’m falling in love” he thought and smiled.

Just as Cassandra was still trying to figure out what next to do, Hector arrived causing the papers to fly up in a random motion again. Amaya gasped.
“We have a situation” Hector said breathing heavily and glanced at the book on the centre table then admired Amaya.
“What situation?” Cassandra drew closer leaving Amaya who met her aunt.
“You need to come with me”
“To where?”
“My louse” Hector replied while Cassandra looked back at her mother and Amaya. “We have no time” he added.
“Mother, don’t be scared. I’ll be back” Cassandra wanted to move on but the way Hector was staring at Amaya stopped her. “What?” she asked him.
“Who is she?”
“That’s my cousin, Amaya”
“Hi, Amaya” Hector waved at her.
“Hi” Amaya replied in a low voice holding her aunt.
“You look so sad, why?” Hector wanted to meet her but Cassandra stopped him by holding his trouser.
“I thought you said we have no time”
“Oh, yes..” Hector realised himself then turned back.
“Lets use my car”
“No need for that” Hector jacked Cassandra up in his arms and sped off causing a wind. Immediately, he returned again to Amaya and Mrs Jonah’s surprise, even Cassandra who was in his arms. “I forgot to say something” he said.
“What?!” Cassandra exclaimed angrily.
“Hum, Amaya, you look beautiful” Hector said smiling.
“Fuck you! You silly boy!” Cassandra yelled before Hector sped off again but came back for the second time. “What again?!”
“Hum, good evening, Mrs Jonas” Hector greeted.
“Evening son” Mrs Jonas replied smiling.
“Haaaauuuu” Cassandra exhaled deeply in his arms before Hector finally sped off. Even Amaya couldn’t help it but kept smilin.

At Hector’s resident, as Nelly was still with Mrs Lucas, Hector arrived with Cassandra who quickly jumped down from his arms walking towards Nelly. “Your brother is crazy!” she shouted.
“What did he do?” Nelly asked.
“I did nothin” Hector interfered. Cassandra saw Mrs Lucas nd looked at Hector who said, “She’s why i brought u”
