THE RETURN OF THE LOVE HUNTERS (Battle of love)

Episode 17
A STORY WRITTEN BY  BRIGHT DANIEL

Geto’s Grandmother zipped in a cup of tea into her mouth as Jesse and Geto stared at her in amazement.
“Granny” Geto called. “Whose blood is needed to break the curse permanently, and how do you know about it?”
The grandmother placed back the cup of tea on the table then glanced at Geto smiling unwillingly. “Cassandra has the answer to these questions” she replied then Geto and Jesse looked at each other.
“Granny?” Jesse also called. “Are you in any way related with Cassandra’s family?” she asked but granny was quiet.
“I guess we should be going now?” Geto stood up taking his grandmother’s hand. As they walked close to the door, Jesse stood up. “Geto, be careful” she said then Geto nodded his head.

GOVERNMENT HOUSE
There was a long table in the building. Men in black suit sat around it. At the opposite end was the president sitted in his glorious and honourable seat. At the other end was Cassandra standing in the presence of all the men. Two soldiers stood beside her. One could see their big muscles inline with visible vains as a result of the heavy guns they were carrying.
“Cassandra, what’s happening in the city?” the governor began.
“The book hunters attacked the city, your excellency” Cassandra replied.
“Book hunters..” the governor stood up wandering slowly. “What about the curse which you made us believe was broken. Are you aware that it is killing my people, your people?!”
Cassandra’s anger began to rise, so she moved slightly forward and said, “Stop making it looks as if i am the cause of the curse! I know nothing about it! How is it a crime that i broke the curse for the first time with a book i unexpectedly inherited from my late mother?! Do you think i wanted all these to happen?! So why do you blame me for the curse i know nothing about?”
“But you knew and broke it before!”
“Yes, i did!”
“Then why is it back again?!” the governor shouted back and hit his hand on the table hardly looking at Cassandra. “Now listen and listen very good. I give you 12 hours to break the course again permanently. I don’t know how you gonna do it, all i want to see is my people free from this deadly curse, love hunter and the so called book hunters, understood!!”
Cassandra remained quiet without knowing what else to say or do. Then she gently turned around to leave but the governor stopped her. “12 hours” he concluded.

MRS VICKER’S RESIDENT
Mrs Vicker, Grace’s mother opened Grace’s room and found her crying bitterly. She wore a short skirt and a jacket with fair body complexion. “What’s wrong with you my girl?” she sat beside her on the bed. “Have you gotten the deadly mark?” she added.
“No, mum” Grace began to dry her tears.
“Then why do you cry?”
“Nothing, mum, I’m fine” Grace stood up forcefully and began to undress. The mother stared at her but just let her be.

Back to the resident of Hector, Nelikita arrived home just to see her brother lying drunk on the floor with bottles of alcohol scattered everywhere. “What have you done to yourself?” she began to pick the bottles.
“Who are you?” Hector staggered up still with a bottle in his hand. “Grace, is that you?”
“No, is your sister, Nelly!”
“Fuck you!” Hector turned and began to stagger into his room while Nelly watched him from behind. “I am not your brother!” Hector continued. “If you were my sister, you would have defended and kept my secret. You are not sister, go to hell!” he opened his room and banged the door close. Nelly was touched by his words so she ran to the door. “Hector, I’m sorry! I only want the best for you” she said.
“Shut up! I have nothing to do with you again. You are no sister of mine. You are a sister to the book hunters who wants to kill me” Hector’s voice echoed from the room. Then Nelly walked back to the sittingroom, she picked her phone to call Grace but she wasn’t picking up, so she became frustrated.

5:55pm
The sun began to set thereby giving room for darkness to take over. Cassandra had been indoors all alone in her room without wanting any visitors or distraction. She sat on the floor with the book and other pictures of strange images before her. “Blood, blood, blood..” she kept opening the books forcefully. “Fuck!” she exclaimed and stood up stretching her head. “Whose blood and how am i to break the curse?!!” she shouted thereby making Amaya to knock at her door shouting, “Cassandra open the door!” suddenly, Cassandra’s phone ran, she picked and was informed that Isabella was dying.

As Isabella laid on the floor shaking with tears in her eyes and that of her mother, Cassandra entered.
“Please, save my only daughter” the mother cried.
Cassandra held Isabella cross the shoulder. She wished she could do something to save her life. “Be strong, Isabella” she said.
“I want to see Francisco” Isabella demanded. “Please, promis to bring him back. And.. and.. tell him that i lo.. Lo.. love him” Isabella concluded and died. Tears ran down from Cassandra’s eyes…
