A STORY WRITTEN BY BRIGHT DANIEL

“Why do you want to go back to Nigeria?” Serah was still inquisitive.
Emylight stood up looking into her face. “Was there water in my mouth when i said they are no love hunters in Nigeria? That’s why I’m going back” he began to pack his things again. Serah watched him without saying anything until he was ready to leave. He moved outside with a bag on his shoulder and another in his hand. When he saw how everywhere looked dark and scary, he returned back to the house looking at Serah. “I think i will go tomorrow” he said.
“Good idea” Serah smiled and took the back from him.

Geto found himself back to normal again as he sat on a wooden chair. He called Jesse’s number to give her the good news but nobody picked the call. “I think Cassandra has broken the curse!” he jumped up.
“What are you talking about? And who is Cassandra?” the grandmother came out.
“Granny, i can’t believe you are the one asking this question! Cassandra, the one you said that knows how to break the curse and whose blood to used!”
“I said all that?”
“Yes, you did! You even spoke with her few hours ago”
“I can’t remember talking to anybody except you” the grandmother concluded then Geto exhaled deeply looking at her with his hands on his waist. He just didn’t understand his grandmother anymore, so he put on his jacket and headed to Cassandra’s resident. As he walked on the road with his two hands inside the jacket he saw a public television broadcasting the freedom of citizens from the deadly mark. He also saw a journalist saying, “Once again the deadly mark is gone and we believe Cassandra the great is behind it. But what about those who vanished because of this same curse, especially Jesse, the governor’s daughter? We shall bring you the details..”
Hearing that, Geto shouted, “Jesse? Disappeared?!” he hurried up to Cassandra’s immediately.

Back to the bush, Cassandra walked heroically to the car with the book in her hands. Meanwhile, jackson sat closely to Amaya touching her hair gently telling her she would be fine. Beside him at the back seat was Francisco who couldn’t say anything. While Jesse sat in the front seat. Cassandra entered the car, put the key in the ignition and drove off.
“Well, did you break the curse?” Jackson asked her.
“Yes” Cassandra replied then they became quiet. Nobody said anything inside the car again. Cassandra occasionally looked at the front mirror to see how close Jackson was to Amaya cleaning stains of blood from her face. She glanced at the girl beside her and said, “Who are you?”
“I’m Jesse” Jesse replied looking at her. “What was i doing back there? The last time i checked, i was on my bed”
“Is okay, darling” Cassandra rubbed her hair. “Is all over now”
“Thank you, my father will reward you handsomely”
“Your father? Who is he?”
“This governor”
Cassandra became surprise staring at her. “You are a daughter to the governor?!”
“Yes”
“When did you come back to the state?”
“Yesterday”
Cassandra shook her head piteously with a smile on her face.

MRS JONAS’S RESIDENT
Lawson, Grace, Daniel, Mrs Jonas and Ruth had already heard the news that the deadly mark was gone. So they waited patiently for the return of Cassandra. Daniel could be seen moving to and fro the sittingroom restlessly.
“Come on, guy, calm down!” Lawson told him.
“How can i?!” Daniel began. “What if something has happened to Cassandra?! And nobody knows where she is now!”
“She will be back, calm down”
Just then, a knock came from the door and Daniel rushed it thinking it was Cassandra. He opened it just to see Geto standing.
“Hey, bro” Geto bagged in before Daniel could say something. “Sorry, for my manners but i really want to see Cassandra” he said looking at the quiet people who stared at him without saying anything. “Hello!” Geto stretched his hands forward. Just then, they heard the sound of a car outside. Lawson, Grace and Mrs Jonas stood up from the cushion. At their very eyes, Cassandra opened the front door.
“Cassandra!” Daniel shouted. He rushed and hugged her tightly. “Thank God you are back”
Cassandra smiled and reciprocated. She hugged her mother and her best friend, Ruth too. Just then, Amaya and Jackson came in followed by Jesse and Francisco.
“Geto?” Jesse called and embraced him. Everybody became surprise except Jackson.
However, Francisco had no idea who all the people were. “I want to see mum” he said.
“Don’t worry, i will take you to her” Cassandra replied.

Few minutes later, the news reached everywhere that Cassandra is back and had rescued Jesse, the governor’s daughter. She was actually at the government house with Jesse waiting to see the governor. Newscasters and journalists surrounded them. One could see flash light from different cameras shone all over the place. Just then, the governor came out.
“Daddy!” Jesse ran to him and hugged him. Yet, Cassandra never made a move as she stared at both of them..
